Ms. Preston has a wonderful balance of nurturing her students’ passion for art while teaching them solid art techniques. My Daughter’s classes with her gave the foundation she needed to apply and be accepted to the most competitive arts high schools in Miami. She continues to grow and have a genuine love of art. Andrea Preston has been one of my most influential art teachers and I’ve accomplished so much because of what I’ve learned as her student. I learned to be more confident in my abilities as an artist and saw immense growth in my artwork. To this day I still think back to what she has taught me. I graduated High School with scholarships to many different art institutions and I’m now in my Junior year at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. I have also interned with the Rubell Family collection and just recently Interned with the Curator of the Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Currently I am working towards a position at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Without Andrea pushing me as an artist I don’t think I’d be where I am today

- Kristen mesa, College for Creative studies, detroit

Providing me with an arts education and laying a foundation from which I would eventually springboard, Ms. Preston single handedly altered my career trajectory. Containing a Bachelor of Art in the History & Criticism of Art, a Master of Science in Museum Studies and currently working as a Museum Educator, the fine arts training I received from her equipped me with the skills that would become crucial for success in both my academic and professional career.
